Participating in youth fitness and recreation programs at the YMCA can provide a range of benefits, such as promoting physical fitness, building social skills, and encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship among children and teenagers. Additionally, these programs can offer a safe and inclusive environment for young people to learn and grow while having fun and developing lifelong healthy habits.
Teen Power Lifting Clinic-PA
This beginner-friendly clinic, open to anyone ages 14 to 17, introduces teens to the basics of powerlifting, teaching proper technique for the squat, bench press, and deadlift. Students will learn from an experienced coach about the importance of warm ups and mobility, safe form and technique for each lift, and gym etiquette while gaining a sense of body confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Coach Ryan holds a Strength and Conditioning Certification with ACE and has coached state and national record holding teams. Ryan also personally holds multiple state records and one national record in power lifting.
Time Frame: 1 week program with 3 sessions taking place on Monday, 11/02, Wednesday, 11/04, and Friday. 11/06 from 4-5:30 p.m.
Storybook Ballet
Storybook Ballet creates a magical world where dance and imagination come to life! Designed for children ages 4-6, this enchanting class introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of ballet through creative movement, music, and storytelling. Each week, children will build balance, coordination, confidence, and grace while learning basic ballet positions and techniques in a fun, supportive environment.
Weightlifting-SQ
Weightlifting is designed for teens ages 14-17 who want to build strength, improve fitness, and learn how to train safely and effectively. Participants will learn proper lifting techniques, exercise form, equipment use, and gym etiquette while gaining confidence in the Wellness Center. Workouts will focus on developing strength, endurance, and healthy fitness habits in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.
JR Strength Training-SQ
Jr Strength Training is designed to introduce youth members (10-13) to the basic foundations of strength training in a fun, supportive, and age-appropriate environment. Participants will learn proper form and technique for a variety of weight training and strength-building exercises while developing confidence in the Multipurpose Room and Wellness Center. The program also focuses on gym etiquette, equipment safety, and healthy fitness habits. With guidance from trained staff, youth will build strength, improve coordination, and gain the knowledge needed to exercise safely and confidently.
Homeschool PE
Our Homeschool PE Program provides students with a fun, structured, and engaging physical education experience in a supportive group setting. Designed specifically for homeschool families, this program focuses on building foundational movement skills, physical fitness, teamwork, and confidence. Pool and Gym sessions available!
Mini Lifeguard Academy
Dive into the exciting world of water safety with Mini Lifeguard Academy! Designed for children ages 7-11, this engaging program introduces young swimmers to the fundamentals of lifeguarding through fun, hands-on activities both in and around the pool. Participants will build confidence in the water while learning age-appropriate rescue techniques, water safety, teamwork, leadership, and responsibility in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Cheer Sparkle Squad
Get ready to shine with Cheer Sparkle Squad! Designed for children ages 3-5, this exciting program introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of cheerleading in a fun, positive, and encouraging environment. Participants will learn basic cheers, chants, motions, jumps, beginner stunts, and pom-pom routines while building confidence, teamwork, coordination, and school spirit.
