NFL Flag Football

The Olympic Peninsula YMCA NFL flag football program offers two different leagues for children of ages 5-12 at the YMCA. Flag football is fun for everyone and a safer alternative for parents who might hesitate letting their children start tackle football.

YMCA youth sports encourage healthy kids, families and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, positive self– image and a sense of fair play. Through our caring staff and coaches, we help your child develop the skills fundamental not only to play the sport, but also to be successful in the community such as cooperation, commitment, dedication and sportsmanship. Volunteer coaches, often parents of players, help run each team. Coaches conduct practices and notify parents when players need to arrive for practices and games.

The YMCA promises no tryouts, no getting cut and no bench warmers!

Every child plays at least half of every game while making friends and learning new techniques. We want to help cultivate our youth into becoming outstanding people just as much as helping them become outstanding players.

Practices for our Youth League will be held three times a week on weeknights. Games will be held at Stevens Middle School on Saturdays. The 5-6 year old academy will meet twice a week on weeknights only. Each participant receives a replica reversible NFL jersey.

Be the difference in your children's development and register them for a YMCA NFL flag football league at the YMCA of Port Angeles or the YMCA of Sequim!

Children who play sports at the YMCA discover so much more than their athletic abilities. They build character, develop self-confidence, create healthy relationships—and you can have a role in this transformation.

When you volunteer as a coach or referee, you’re helping others, meeting new people, keeping your mind and body healthy and learning new skills—and all of this feels great.

Doing something you love, while making a difference!

Whether you love the sport, working with kids, coaching, or giving back—you can enjoy your passion in a family environment, while using your life experience to make a difference in the lives of kids.

Member Support
The Olympic Peninsula YMCA is a nonprofit organization. We work side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income or background, has the opportunity to live life to the fullest. Thanks to the generosity of the local community, the Y offers member support to any individuals or family who needs a little extra help. A Member Support Application will be available by request at your local YMCA.
