How To Begin: To volunteer with the Y, feel free to call us to discuss your opportunities and interests. You may also drop by, pick up a volunteer application, and talk with a member of the staff.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Play Care Program Aide: Work with babies and toddlers in our Play Care program allowing parents to workout while their children are cared for on-site.

Wellness Center Monitor: Perfect for a “people person!” Offer support to YMCA members working out in order to promote a safe and friendly environment. Our volunteer would provide assistance to members to ensure that they have a positive experience achieving maximum benefit of their workout.

Janitorial Aide: Volunteers assist in a variety of janitorial and maintenance activities at the YMCA. Our volunteers help us ensure we maintain a clean and functional facilities for our members and program participants. Landscaping and gardening is also a part of the work involved in creating a pleasing atmosphere, so green thumbs are always welcome.

Live Y-ERS Aide: Live Y-ers staff and volunteers supervise a group-play area in the YMCA gymnasium while parents are given the opportunity to relax, sip coffee or tea, and converse amongst themselves. This program currently operates from 10:00 a.m. — 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday.

Office Administrative Support Aide: If you love attention to details, we can always use some help with all the “paperwork.” Tasks include data entry, file organization and cataloging, computer system updating and maintenance. Knowledge of word and data processing systems ,as well as Internet applications, are valued.

Youth Program Aide: Work closely with young people at the YMCA. We need people who are able to establish rapport with kids while serving as a positive and mature role model.

Youth Sports Program Aide: Provide assistance to the Youth Sports Program staff in support of a variety of  sport programs for the young (basketball, indoor soccer, t-ball, coach pitch, gymnastics, etc). Duties include hands-on site and/or program management and various administrative tasks such as team rosters, scheduling, etc.

Building Futures: Volunteers are high school students, caring adults and retirees who want to make a positive impact in a child’s life.

Summer Meals & Literacy:  Volunteers will help prepare and serve food, and assist the Y staff with youth activities.
