Olympic Peninsula YMCA Gym Facilities Closed Tuesday November 17-Monday December 14

You may already be aware that Governor Inslee is implementing new guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on Governor Inslee’s revised public health measures, all Olympic Peninsula YMCA fitness facilities will be closed starting Tuesday, November 17 through Monday, December 14. YMCA licensed childcare programs will continue to operate; and it is our understanding that the pool at Sequim can remain open. All in-person classes, programs, and events at our facilities will be cancelled during this time.

While this news is disappointing to us and we will miss seeing all of you again, we know that it is incredibly important to do everything possible to get on the other side of this pandemic. In order to keep you healthy and engaged with our Y community during the closure of our fitness facilities, our staff will be providing virtual group exercise classes, wellness check-ins, and virtual community chats. In addition, Y staff will be available during limited business hours to assist you if you have any questions or concerns. Please check our website and our Facebook pages for frequent facility updates.

As a dedicated member and supporter, we want to thank you for being part of the Y community during these challenging times. We understand if you need to place your membership on hold or would like a refund of dues paid during this period of time, but humbly ask you to continue to support the Y by staying with us.

If you need to place your membership on hold or request a refund of membership fees paid, please contact:

For YMCA of Sequim: email Amanda Hazard, Member Services Coordinator, at amanda@olympicpeninsulaymca.org or call 360-477-4381 Monday through Friday.

For YMCA of Port Angeles: email Jeanine Thayer, Member Services Coordinator, at jeanine@olympicpeninsulaymca.org or call 360-452-9244.

We will keep you updated on the status of our facilities over the next 4 weeks. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at wendy@olympicpeninsulaymca.org. I will be holding a Virtual Community Chat this Friday, November 20 at 10 a.m. on Zoom if you'd like to talk with me then. You can find details about our chat on our YMCA Facebook Pages.

You can also reach out to Gail Sumpter, Branch Executive for YMCA of Sequim at gail@olympicpeninsulaymca.org and Nancy King, Branch Executive, for YMCA of Port Angeles at nancy@olympicpeninsulaymga.org

Thank you for your patience and support during this time.

Sincerely,

Wendy Bart
