Aide- After the Bell and Youth Programs

Aides in the care of children and their families through programs such as Playcare, Live Y’ers, Family Nights, After The Bell, Summer Day Camp and Birthday parties. Follows instructions in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the Association. Develops positive relationship with parents and proactively strives to increase the opportunity to integrate members into other YMCA programs.

Main opening is in the After The Bell program. Ideal aide will greet students by name each day and support instructors and staff. Will need to be able to communicate feedback, concerns, and ideas to class instructor. Help with set up, gathering of supplies and assist with clean up.
Other hours may be available to assist staff and care for children in various programs; Play Care, Live Y’ers, Summer Day Camp, Family Nights and Birthday Parties.

We are looking for an individual that is 16 years or older, has an outgoing personality, experience working with children and can communicate effectively with staff, children and parents. Will need to complete CPR, First Aid and on-line trainings within 30 days of hire.

 

Director of Development & Community Engagement

The Director of Development and Community Engagement is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for the Association’s comprehensive philanthropic efforts:

  • Annual Support Campaigns including recruiting, coaching of volunteers and staff, planning, training, and all aspects of the campaign.
  • Assisting Branch Managers and staff when with writing, reporting, and communicating all aspects of grant funding for the Olympic Peninsula YMCA.  This candidate will manage grant functions to ensure timely submission and compliance, and will work closely with staff to identify funding opportunities to enhance programs and services that meet the needs of the community.
  • Provide leadership and direction to association special events.

The Director of Development will also be a partner in the delivery of services by providing support to the organization’s capital development and fundraising efforts, engaging and maintaining professional relationships with donors, grant funders, key program constituents and by embracing the YMCA’s culture of meaningful growth, collaboration and continuous quality improvement. To provide leadership to the Olympic Peninsula YMCA’s philanthropic strategy and programs including annual campaigns in 3 communities and a Capital Campaign in Port Townsend/Jefferson County.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Full Time, Exempt
Occasional weekends, nights and travel between 3 association branches.

 

Health and Well-Being Instructor

Health & Well-Being Team Members are responsible for aiding participants in achieving their well-being goals in group or individual settings as indicated by Health & Well-Being Coordinator.  Duties may include choreographing and delivering classes, building community and following up with participants.  Superb relationship skills, attention to detail and follow-through are required.  Basic computer skills are also necessary.

Instructor

Category: Child Development
Location: Jefferson County

Job Type: Part-Time

An instructor is responsible for the enjoyment, welfare, safety, and character development of youth involved in all Youth Development Programs (Pre- K, After The Bell, Summer Day Camp and Teen Programs). Instructors will teach engaging classes that are age appropriate in the following areas; sports/fitness, art, team building, nutrition, and academics, among others, according to their skill set. The instructor may transport children to and from the YMCA using a Y vehicle, with training. Instructors will maintain YMCA rules and standards. Instructors will communicate regularly with his/her supervisor about progress of class, supplies needed and other related information.

HOURS:
Monday through Friday
2:00 pm-6:00 pm
Occasional Wednesdays
11:30 am-6:00 pm
10-15 hours per week

LOCATIONS: 
Jefferson County: Chimacum Elementary, Mountain View Commons and Fort Worden

 

Lead Lifeguard

The Lead Lifeguard works under the supervision of the Lifeguard Coordinator and assists with the supervision and coordination of lifeguards. All lifeguards are responsible for the safety of all patrons in and around the pool area and creates a safe and positive atmosphere.

Program Services Representative

Program Services Representative (PSR) staff are responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the office and general business support systems. Specific duties include, but are not limited to greeting and assisting the public; managing and directing all incoming calls, ensure timely and accurate processing of program applications and registrations, able to take cash, check and credit card payments all while providing exceptional customer service.  Multi-tasking skills and an attention to detail are required.  Basic computer skills are necessary, as well as the ability to type a minimum of 45 wpm. PSR’s must be able to demonstrate the values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility in all dealings with guests, volunteers and fellow staff.

Swim Lesson Instructor

Wellness Center Coach

Fitness experience and training required. Wellness center coaches are responsible for aiding participants in achieving their well-being goals in group or individual settings as indicated by the Health & Well-Being Coordinator. They will instruct members and guests in the safe and effective use of a wide variety of cardio and fitness equipment, monitor orderly operation of the wellness center, and enforce wellness center rules. Having superb relationship skills, attention to detail and follow-through are required. Basic computer skills are also necessary. A wellness center coach should be self motivated and able to complete daily cleaning task. A wellness center coach should also serve as a champion of healthy lifestyles.
